i don't need comfort when i'm out of the truck.
nor do i need it between 45 and 65. a fan is usually good enough at 65
course, u know. with the sensor inside the frame. it's shaded so probably has to get a lot hotter then 75.
you could always just let the sun shine on the sensor. my thermometer always reads hotter when it's just sitting there vs. rolling down the road with the wind -

Someone here sound like a total piece of...Well, let's not go there. It's one thing to want to be comfortable in your truck, I get it. But, it's another thing to not care about the equipment or burn fuel, or the mentality, "who cares, its not my or his fuel!" Who cares if I'm running a tire low on air and it blows out? Who cares if that front hub gasket has leaked out all the oil and I destroy the bearings and spindle, its not my truck I want to go home or make that money. I hope you get fired. Why do you need to idle the truck for home time? You don't live in the truck, that makes no sense at all. They will figure it out, and I'm sure there will be a former Werner driver on here. Finally, that's not a company I'd be driving for anyways.
fland Thanks this. -
Seriously, why go thru so much trouble rewiring and stuff like that when it probably just is a NTC resistor? Just measure the resistance at say 80 degrees, go to a electronic shop and by a normal resistor with the value you got....

UPDATE: My fix works GREAT! I have the sensor run & taped next to the light in the side door. So when its been too humid to sleep I jump out, turn the light on, run the truck, press in the clutch when the check engine light comes up and I am all set for the night. Jump out, shut off the light and close the door back up. Just to be on the safe side when ever I go to a terminal I just stop at a truck stop or parking area and rerun the wire the way it should be. But its so rare I go to terminals I am pretty much all set! YMMV!
And to answer our Enironhippy brother from the North, I could care less about the environment. As long as my paycheck clears, I'm comfortable, and I am reasonably sure I won't get caught, I am happy. Hell I would empty barrels of nuclear waste into rivers for good cash money if I new I wouldn't get caught! I'm not married and I don't have kids so what ever happens after I die is of no consequence to me! LOL6daysontheroad Thanks this.
