Texas and Florida don't have a state income tax so that could be an incentive.

I know that tons of trucking companies, and many of the majors base their
operations in Oklahoma. Supposed to be very trucker friendly.

Also on the forums main page there is a link for drivers and O/O to get a address
and mail box and stuff to set up a legal residence in TN as there are many benefits. I think the main thing they sell it on is no Income tax.

    Here is the link.....http://truckershomebase.com/

I can only speak from personal experience for TN, but it seems to be pretty business/trucking friendly. No income tax, but the sales tax is pretty high, 9.25%. Apportioned tags seem to be on par with the cheaper states, I think they charge $120 on top of the apportionment fees, mine came to $1410 last year and $1470 this year for 48 states. The worst part about the tags is the only office is in Nashville, but you can do everything by mail after the first year. Trailer tags are permanent, and are $25 if I remember right. Those you can get at any county clerk's office. Real estate depends on where you get it, some counties have higher property taxes than others, but you could probably get something like what you're talking about pretty cheap, like $75k or under, and still be close to the interstate. Possibly well under depending on the location.

Well, the phoenix area is bright and sunny. Not to mention that currently real estate is a buyers market and that goes for commerical as well.

And if you based here.....I could introduce kenabear to the valet parking at the mall!! woot woooooooooot

They used to go to Oklahoma for tagging but now OK has tightened up things so not as many as before. I would still check out Oklahoma though. Kansas isn't too bad but have high fuel taxes. Might ask Big John he lives in Oklahoma.
