I really shouldn't post after a shift. *sighs* I hate showing my insanity in public. :biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523:

I'm pretty sure I'd like the wacko.......we probably have much in common. :biggrin_25524:

I won't be coming over for pie........the dreaded diet begins again tomorrow. :biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510:

I live in Oklahoma and yes they are pretty friendly on the trucking laws and registration. They had to tighten up on the registration cab card rules a few years back because other states got up set and sued and some state employees that worked in the registration office were not sharing the bonus money that came in the little brown envelope. Know they are cuddling up with bubba and singing "Sweet Georgia Brown" in the "Steel Bars Hotel"

I pay about $1400 a year for my base plate and IFTA decals are $2.00 I think.

Property is reasonable compared to most states. Plus we have some pretty good immigration laws and the law requires you to speak and understand the English language when driving in this good Ole state. Come on down and join us. Soon we will have the US border along the Red River.

    Arkansas is another good choice.

This isn't public...We are already aware of the insanity.

EVERYBODY likes that WACKO! They just tolerate me so they can hang out with her.

OK Granny...You'll be glad to know that I'm a problem solver and I have a plan.

You go ahead and come on over, I'll buy 2 pieces of pie...I'll eat both pieces of pie and YOU can have some lettuce!

THEN...I'll describe in detail my pie eating experience to you...It'll be just like you ate the pie without all those pesky calories!

See Granny? Old blackw900's got yer back!:biggrin_25523:

No wonder people like her more than you. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

Seriously though, the real estate is good here but we have state income tax. Being a Texan I'm rather shocked by such a thing as state income tax. I do know that Swift registers most of their trucks in Indiana and trailers in OK. They use to do both in OK. Maybe that'll help.

Learn to deal with the four letter white cuss word, and choose South Dakota. To be even more specific, western South Dakota, right on the Montana state line. This way you could live in SD, which has no state income tax, and buy everything in Montana, which has no sales tax.

I actually had something similar. I lived in TN, which has no state income tax, but traveled 10 minutes to go shopping in MS, which has a much lower sales tax than TN. That property is currently for sale as I now live In Alabama. It would not fit your needs though as it is way too secluded to have easy truck access.

Since the income and sales tax issue is on the table...

I'm from NH, where we have neither. The state makes up the difference with the property tax rates. In my town, 2 acres with a 58'X80' pole barn (no insulation) and 14' doors gets you a $9,000 tax bill every year.

Just something to keep in mind.
