I bought out the rest of what my local Walmart had. And it wasn’t much.
-
Better buy it up, if ya can find it.
Couldn't get by my usual oil change spot so tried speedco, they are completely out of X15 filters. Went up the road to the TA Kingsville, Ohio, they have the filters but are out of Rotella.
Walmart in Sandusky, Ohio had no Rotella last night and tons of empty shelf space in the oil isle.Cat sdp Thanks this. -
Got the last two 5 gal buckets mobile delvac 15w-40 from our wholesale oil distributor the week before last.
Distributor said none in the warehouse and Mobil didn’t know when any would be available.
My wife rushed to the local Walmart and bought the last 8 gallons (two short for an oil change) they had in stock.
Blew a 17.5 tire on my trailer two weeks ago and tried to order a replacement and the distributor had none and the continental warehouse had none.
My wife went on line and found an internet seller who had 5 left in stock.
We bought the last 5 that they had but my trailer takes 6.
In my repair shop business we have experienced not being able to get oil filters, brake rotors, and brake pads.
We also for the time being have been limited to the amount of brake clean we can purchase because of shortages.
The general public who doesn’t own a business only see’s some sporadic bare selves at the supermarket and just kind of shrug it off as a minor inconvenience.
It’s the business people who see what’s coming first when they can’t get the every day materials they depend on to run their businesses.
Some have said “it’s going to get real real soon”
It’s all ready real for me.. -
Pamela1990, bzinger, Cat sdp and 2 others Thank this.

If a plastic container shortage is the reason, then all the quicky oil change joints won't be affected, since they get the stuff by the tanker full in bulk. Same goes for buying by the barrel at Sam's Club or wherever. Just divvy it up with a few of your buddies.....

Sam’s usually has Rotella drums. My local hasn't for awhile and if you search nearby stores they show none available within 150 miles. They do have 1 gallon and 2.5 gallon and also Delvac 1 gallon. Guess I will swing by and grab some.
Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
If you are not a sams club member you may want to buy the cheap membership just for the oil.

Problem is the additives for the oil. They have lots of base oil but not everything else to go in it. Also clean empty drums are getting harder to find for places to fill from their bulk tanks.
