I buy White Oak 3x4 and 4x4 cants in 900BF packages. Take 'em home; cut to length, paint ends to slow the checking. Stack them in the shed with drying stickers between each layer. Enough to sell here and there and not feel bad either if you lose some at a receiver. Do it every other year or so. I realize not all of you can just swing by a little mill though; just saying doing this in advance makes life easy.

I live in Amish country here is PA. True there is no electricity in their homes and most tend to keep to themselves. But the ones who do interact with the English, as they call us, are friendly.

Any of you guys ever heard of rumber?

It is a plastic type of boards that are strong as heck. I had a livestock trailer with a floor made out of it.

They sell 4x4 dunnage boards made of rumber with a lifetime warranty. Pretty pricey though at $38 each

My boards tend to grow legs at night. So I'd have a hard time spending that much knowing I'd be missing them before long.

With this thread being nearly two years old I'm sure they found some.
