Is that the best brand out there?
My friend has a laminated one and someone bought it for him for just $30, and he doesn't know where it was bought, does anyone know?

Rand McNally maps seem to be the gold standard when it comes to CMV's. The deluxe laminated atlas will last for years and has many helpful guides besides the actual maps. Things such as low underpasses, restricted routes, legal permissable axle weight limits per state, King pin law guides, etc.

as stated, the Rand McNally Truckers Road Atlas is the best, and get the laminated, LARGE print too....(there is a small and LARGE Atlas)...

the laminated will last literally for years, i still have my 1994 Rand. (but i do have a much newer one....a 2009...with SMALL print...AARRGGGHHHH....!!!)

DO NOT but the first one you see at the FIRST truck stop you go to...like anything else, shop around...(even when buying a cb radio..>!!!)

now in the past, the best prices were from the Pilot, then the Flying J....
(i can't tell you now who has the best prices)

Never pay more than the price on the back of the map...!!!

    JimDriv3r Thanks this.

No Wal-Mart doesn't have it. Wal-Mart is not the truckers savior. In fact, Most Wal-Marts don't want us around!

The list on the book your asking is $79.99. You can get them at the pilot or flyin J's for roughly $30 to $45.

Now when are you going to stop asking questions?

I got a new laminated for 29.95 plus tax at a Pilot in northwest Maryland a couple weeks ago. When the 2012s come out the leftover 2011s will be cheaper. I would have bought a large print 2011 but as nearly as I can find out, Rand McNally didn't print any, and you can still get new 2010 large print if you happen to find them.

The coating on the large print is resistant to liquids but it has a dull finish and that is what I like, no glare from lighting.

The paperbound ones do not last in a truck.
