The pages are thinner and the overall size is bulkier compared to the deluxe laminated edition. I for one bought a large print when they first came out a few years back and hated it. It was too heavy for one and the pages were flimsy as compared to the smaller normal size.

A magnifying glass or sheet could be used for those that have difficulty seeing the fine print.

I still have my 2010 laminated truckers atlas which was purchased at the Flying J in Dodge City, KS for forty dollars. I would highly recommend it for the helpful information located within the first few pages (state-specific weight limits, low underpass locations, restricted routes, etc.) I use the atlas all of the time to verify that my company's fuel routing is in fact the most shortest and the most legal route to take, and the GPS that I use supplements the atlas by helping me to navigate along the twisty windy mountain roads here in the Rockies, especially when I drive in the dark.

Guess I'll put in another vote for the laminated version.

I have the paper one and it had pages falling out within a couple weeks. Had it eight months now, and don't even use it very often (I run the same areas often enough I usually know how to get there) and it's not much more than a pile of loose, torn pages.

i think the paper version is good for the car or at home....i takes too much abuse while on the road, when in a big truck.

i must have had only 1 paper version in my earlier years, and from that point on, went for the laminated each and every time there after....

i don't think one can make the wrong decision buying laminated one, which can last for many years.

I thought I got a good deal but didn't know how good. Flying J in Edmonton had their 2010 atlases on sale for $2.00. There was one laminated one there that I grabbed.

I don't get into truck stops much these days. I do, however, give R/M Truckers Atlases away as Christmas gifts. Right now they can be found online for under $20 bucks.
