Hmmm, let's see if I can pull a rabbit out of my hat and find something decent/fun to do here. I'll be ashamed of myself if I can't since I grew up here. When I searched for a truck stop, a flying j came up within five miles of the locations below, but when I tried clicking the "more info button" it didn't take me to the link, so I called the number and it was someone's personal number. So for now the Fort Vancouver Historical site is within five miles of Jubitz... (I'll replace the rest of the locations later) UGH!

I was unable to speak with someone here about lessons or other possibilities, but if you are familiar/interested with this type of club then you probably know what is and isn't available.
I heard of one driver's stories about taking lessons while sitting at a terminal.

We grew up calling this mall just that, Vancouver Mall, but it is called Westfield Shopping Center now. We used to buy San Francisco Riding Gear and Britannia jeans at the Jean Machine in the 70's.

Are you a history buff? Go to where the fur trading company Hudson's Bay resided. You will find a blacksmith shop, bakery, stores, brig etc...
Also nearby are the homes called "Officer's Row" where Ulysses S. Grant, Marshall and Howard houses are availabe for touring.
Well, RMT, I like a challenge. So... I will be looking those places up and finding SOMETHING to do!Baack Thanks this. -

Here's another.
I don't know if there is a height or weight restriction on the covered bridge. Bobtail there only!!
Ceder Creek Grist Mill.
The Scenery alone around the Cedar Creek Grist Millmakes it worth the trip. It's like driving into the past. Heavily wooded and a beautiful stream doing the same thing today as it did over a hundred years ago. The soothing sounds of the rushing water may allow the visitors time for reflection of those times. The south side of the creek has four picnic tables to those fortunate enough to lay claim and allow a great view of the stream, the mill and the covered bridge.
From I-5 Heading South:
Take Woodland exit #21 from Interstate 5 and continue to traffic light.
Turn left, continue under freeway and immediately turn right to cross North Fork of Lewis River.
Turn left onto Northwest Hayes Road toward Amboy, which becomes Cedar Creek Road.
About eight miles from Woodland, a sign points left to the mill. Turn left on Grist Mill Road and the Mill is about 3/4 of a mile. From I-5 Heading North:

This will be interesting when you get to Florida. Most unfriendly truck state around. When i was out there i liked going to see a movie or two. I had to get out of the truck for extended periods of time or i started to feel like a hermit.

Lived in central FL for 25 years, drove trucks locally/east coast dedicated for 3 ....never had a problem getting around with or without my trailer.
Truckstops, sure...there aren't enough to go around; good luck finding parking on 95 or 75 south of Jax or Ocala. But if you're stuck somewhere in FL you can find places to go that aren't truckstops. I certainly wouldn't say FL is the "least truck friendly state"....howza 'bout New Jersey? Connecticut, Massachusetts? Pennsylvania? New York? Go anywhere in those states you risk a ticket & losing the top of your truck to a bridge. LOL at least in FL you can idle to beat the swamplike humidity .
We used to haul flowers out of Miami, and it usually involved a half-day to an overnight wait at the shipper; there was all sorts of places to bobtail to for food & entertainment. MMMM cuban subs & cuban coffee. Only *good* thing ABOUT driving in Miami LOLLL.

I am just talking parking here for extended periods of time. In the states you mentioned, i never had an issue there. I am very "creative" and persistant. Walmarts and behind strip malls are great places to stash the truck.
