Springfield, MO and surronding areas have quite a few OTR carriers. If you want something dedicated try anywhere by a turnpike. Outside of Chicago in Indiana isnt a bad area (except for Gary)
Personally I would look at something local Gordon food service and conway take students and within a few years you can make much more the OTR. -
The I-80 corridor in the Midwest. There is a ton of freight moving in that area right now.

Fresno CA, Massive amount of farm goods factory goods ets. Seasonal, year round, or local jobs. Trucking is huge there, always find a job there even with not so good record. Running in CA is a pain but it is a beautiful state to live in. Fresno is close 2 Sacramento and the Bay area so a lot of stuff to do all the time regardless of what you are into. Ocean fishing, resturants, outdoors, scuba, bike riding, Farmers markets, Fisherman's wharf, just massive amount of things close by. I moved from Montana to N. California about 3 years before trucking and will never go back north again.
