Where to park truck during time off?

    new to trucking here, the first week I go home, I park at the flying j and asked for permission to park for 2 days and they let me park there, I have to sign a paper but yesterday I did the same thing but they only let me park there for 1 day so today I have to get my truck and park at the next mom and pops truck stop nearby and asked for permission to park and they charge me $10 a day, so I have to go with it and pay, so what should I do here?
    Can I just go ahead and park at flying j for like 3 days and without telling them about it?

    I wouldn't park there unless they knew and approved it. It will cost a lot more than $10 a day if your truck gets towed. Look around for other places that will allow you to park there. I see trucks parked at all kinds of businesses around my area.

    Park it and pull your curtains... isn't like they do a truck inventory... and unless it's something extra special, it won't get attention.

    I'm sure the one-up people can flow in here with all the stories they've heard whilst dining at a truckstop... but I've never heard of a truck being towed from one of the major truckstops for sitting there for 2 days.

    Trailers, perhaps... but not a combination.

    Unfortunately, paying to park is sometimes your best bet. I pay monthly for a spot in a private lot, as I'm sure many others here do as well. Security and not being towed go a long way in making the most out of home time. It all depends on where you live, but I would start looking around for some secure parking(not a truckstop, more like a business). When I lived in PA, I paid a trailer shop $50 a month for a dedicated parking spot, but here in FL, like everything else, it's more expensive. $135 for a paved, dedicated spot that I don't worry about my pick up or big truck when I'm home. Maybe you have a friend with some land???

    How far away you live from there? If just a few miles,move it a few slots over,what the hell,should probably check on it once a day anyway.

    Try a close by Walmart make sure you get the OK from the manager.Heck there a CVS down the road from me where they let 2 trucks to park there all the time.For me,I used park behind a small shopping center down the road,never had any issues cuz there was only 2 stores still in business!

    Shoot, there's been a truck parked at the pilot in Ft. Worth for at least a week or so that doesn't appear to have been touched. Unless its clearly abandoned, I doubt they will care too much.
