Where to send my oil for analysis?

    I use Schaeffer oil. They supply free kits and analysis when I order a drum of oil. Everything delivered to me for free also.

    Yeah these guys are just fine. I bought the bulk pak and submit my sample info online before I mail the oil. You can order about 3 different levels of analysis. Don't recall the specifics but the middle level is what I use. Seems to cover anything I'm interested in. Mainly standard contaminants, coolant related contaminants, and TBN numbers.

    well, i've been sending oil samples to CAT. I run all over the country so I mailed the samples to CAT from all over the country. Every time I got an email with my oil result analysis within 10 days of me dropping a package in the mail box. So they are real fast for sure.

    Not bad for about $13 is it? Cheap enough to where there is really no reason to not sample every oil change even for an old school driver like me dumping the oil every 12,000 miles.

    I heard bad things about speedco. like one guy smelled fuel in oil and after 2 good speedco ananlyses he had some other company do the oil analysis and sure enough there was fuel in oil. So speedco screwed him bad

    yeah, for sure. if thats your truck, looks like u losing some money on aerodynamics. like the truck is not as high as the trailer. looks like you'd do better with flatbed:)

    I got some with my FS2500 bypass. Then started using Schaefer's kit. The CAT sounds cheapest. I'll try one of them next. Does the CAT provide TBN numbers for the $13 or charge extra?

    Well I just have to work harder at getting a rate to cover the extra cost. Not a big deal. If I ever upgrade I will most definitely get something more suitable for pulling a box. As it is I intend to just run this one until it is ready to hit the scrap yard and use it to pay for everything we want or need in the mean time. Been working pretty good so far.

    No TBN numbers on mine. Pretty useless though considering the oil gets dumped so often. I understand though running a bypass and extending drains you definitely want to keep an eye on TBN.
