You got that right.
I tried to make it work hauling cars. Actually did ok for a while. If you think flatbed is cut throat with cheap rates,.. try car hauling. I subbed for Hansen and Adkins mainly out of the Orlando rail yard.
Its a petty, frustrating, time consuming, pain in the tookus process. You have to go over each vehicle with a magnifying glass, get someone to come over so you can document any damages before it leaves the yard. Then dealing with car dealers to get the vehicles checked in is another world of time consuming frustration. I was home every night,.. but I was putting in 16 - 18 hour days 6 days a week. Its a rough existence.
I failed, lost my insurance and had to sell everything. Went back to being a company driver for a while. Put some money away and made another go at it with flatbed.
This was my set up when I was hauling cars.
