I see what you're saying. To each their own. But I have to add, people who say they don't gamble so Vegas wouldn't be fun need to open their eyes. I've spent many vacations in Vegas and can count the amount I've gambled under $1000. As for not drinking well...I'll leave that to someone else with more experience than I :D

Agree. Live where you are happy. Company's loose contracts they go out of business and hot freight lanes can change.

Oh please, you guys either pay one way or another. It all is the same if you look at the big picture.

Absolutely agree, it is a hell of a lot more fun than Disney.

I bought mine at the tail end of the housing crash, so got a real good deal. Prices have never recovered and probably won't since home prices were over priced anyway.
propertyVEGAS.com and Zillow.com is where I found mine. propertyVEGAS helped me lock it in and finish the deal.

Washington and Alaska don't have any income tax either.

The best place is anywhere but Montana. We hit one million a couple of years ago so we are full.

Come on now. No room for me to shoehorn a double wide on to a 10 acre cornfield somewhere?;)

    I'd live near Arkansas.....

That said - Maine has a 'use tax' which they charge every year. This reads: You bought it out of State, you've got to pay to use it in State. It's a blood-sucking joke.

Mathematically it's 0.08% of your income. Because they know you're buying #### from New Hampshire (no sales tax) and online....... Greedy ######## want their cut of your pie too.

How many people volunteer to do that?

    I'd assume very few.

    No volunteering necessary.
You file your taxes and it's automatically calculated for you.

That's right... They know, KNOW, you aren't paying your due taxes.

Don't bring a boat, car, motor home, motorcycle here... You get pegged twice - State of purchase and again in Maine. (Don't even get me started on the Excise tax to register a vehicle.)

Texas doesn't have state income taxes, but they make it back with property tax.
Going rate in the cities is between 2.7-3.2%, average person pays 4-6k in property taxes every year for their home.
Outside of city limits you can drop down to about 1.5%, and if you actually get livestock there are some exemptions available.

    Raxus Thanks this.
