the newer ones are just numbers. Newest start with 11 or 12, then there are 08 and the older duraplates start with a 5.

If it starts with a 14XXXX then it stands 14 feet tall, all others are 13'6". If it starts with a 75XXXX it is a 57' trailer. The ones that are 73XXXX used to be 57s cut down to 53'. You need to know where you can and can't take a 14'. LOL, there are also some ultracubes that you need to watch out for, they will ride at 14' behind a standard tractor and will get stuck under a low overpass if you don't know what you got.
Tapeworm Thanks this. -

Actually the 549, 548 and I think 547 numbers are newer than the 50 series.

Sometimes the MS Carriers were better than the 5's. Many had air ride. The ones that sucked had the Meritor suspension. Release for the sliders is between the tandems.

the best trailers i've found is pretty much any great dane trailer. they all track perfectly straight even the older ones and tandems are easy to slide. the newer trailers seem to get messed up from the local drivers.

I've been told the 12, 11, and 08s are best. The 14's are newer but as stated above are 14ft. I thought, 54 was better than the 50. Although they are hit and miss still. I did have a good ms air-ride trailer that I ran a few weeks ago though. I avoid the T's as much as I can.
