Well me and my father are no longer driving the Volvo we've had for the last three years. Our company put us in a new Western Star 4900 SB. It's got a 505 HP DD15, 13 speed Eaton UltraShift Plus, 3.36 geared rears, and is a long frame day cab, with spread axles. It rides good and pulls well, but the Ishift did a much better job.
Quite honestly, this is something neither of us wanted. We are both sick of teaming, because they don't dispatch trucks all that well, and it doesn't work good when my father is hauling asphalt anyway. Usually he goes out for 14-16 hrs. and then I get about 8 at night. I've been here for 3 years working nights, weekends, and holidays, and I've watched many guys come and go, that get their own truck, day shift, Mon-Fri, weekends, and holidays off. They will hire someone right off the street and they get it better than me, but when I ask if I can get into my own truck to just be able to run days more, suddenly there isn't anything available. It's not like I'm asking for all weekends and holidays off. I don't mind working those days. They also just hired someone back that worked nights for 6 months, quit and went to another company and didn't like it, so now he's back and has been assigned a truck running days, with weekends off. We are both still trying to get split up, but if is doesn't happen, I'm thinking it might be time to part ways with them. H.O. Bouchard was a lot better 3 years ago, but the last 2 years have been a down hill slide. I have started to look around at other companies, but it all comes down to what happens in the next few weeks.Bud A. Thanks this. -
Was they you @ncdriver1 I met on RT 3 today? If so, that was a nice looking Peterbilt! I would've been driving the Bouchard Western Star.

Its a nice peaceful drive77fib77, Bud A., Cooky and 1 other person Thank this. -
Today sucked from the start.
Had to go to the Joliet to help them out. Hate going there.
At Joliet was asked to help out the Iso division. Hate Iso work.
Took a loaded Iso tank out of joliet delivered to Nalco
3 hrs at Nalco, no problem with that.
Empty back to Joliet and grabbed a clean tank to drag back to Lansing.
Now Joliet to Lansing is a 45 min. Drive, But to day was a 2hr and 10 min drive back to Lansing.
2 accidents near Joliet and the near the Indiana state line had 2 lanes closed down due to a Chemical spill.
Talk about aggravating the last 6 miles was over an hour.
Everyday theres some kinda mess near joliet.
They need to add a 3rd lane from I55 to I355.
And I cant see that happening anytime soonBud A. and ChicagoJohn Thank this.
