I've not had any trouble with sound quality with any that I've tried. from cheap to expensive. those that dont fit well, sound is awful, more cause I cant keep it on my ear correctly than because the product was not of quality. (I know because I gave the ones that didnt fit me well to co-worker and he loved it. was a jawbone type and a motorola)
the one I liked best, cost only $18, battery was awful, but when I went to buy a second one, the store didnt have anymore. guess they not making them now, out dated. so I tried the Emerson, so far I'm pleased with it.

If you have something that works, who am I to tell you different? I have a bluetooth that hangs on my ear and it works great in places with no noise. I still use it with my truck turned off at night. At one point I bought a middle of the road, noise cancelling one which was better in a noisy environment, but still not good enough. So I returned it for a refund. Finally got the Blue Parrot. People I talk to cannot hear any noise and cannot tell whether I am in a noise proof room, or sitting in the stands at Daytona.

Got mine for 80 or 90 bucks on Amazon.com. Personally, I would never buy any electronics which are refurbished. The reason they are refurbished is because something went wrong to begin with.

Maybe in some cases, but when my battery went bad they refurbed mine while they had it there at no cost. I guess a bad battery would be considered something wrong, but not many batts will last forever.

I'd rather have something that works properly and is uncomfortable than something that doesn't work but IS comfortable. Obviously it's better to have something that is comfortable AND works properly. From what you've said, it sounds like the new version of Blue Parrot has addressed the comfort issue. I have an older version which is not uncomfortable to wear, but awkward to put on. Ideally I'd like to have a bluetooth which is small and fits on the ear, but I am guessing that it is impossible to make one like that with extreme noise cancelling since I assume it requires a mic on a boom, right in front of your mouth.

I'm not saying you can't get a good deal buying refurbished. I just think you are taking a chance. I don't have a particularly strong opinion on the matter either way.

No worries, I didnt take it that way. I was just really impressed with vxi's customer service after the sale. The headset can take a second to get on your head, my only complaint. But the quality far out weighed that for me personally.
