ok, I should first say that I have a felony conviction back in 1983 when I was young and stupid. This has severely limited my options on which company to go to after my cdl school finishes in May. No, most companies despite what they claim refuse to consider me despite that it has been 33 years and have never been in any other trouble. That being said I have two confirmed places to go with possibly a third. I can for sure go to Transam and also US Express has agreed to hire me as well. Schneider may, I have an interview with them this Tuesday. But out of the two for sures which do all of you experienced truckers recommend, Transam or US Express?
Yes, I know what is good for one person may not be good for the next, just trying to get a feel of which would be best.
Which company...?

I'd go with TransAm;much nicer equipment that's really set up for the driver.
Free DIRECTV!
TransAm is excited to announce that we are installing DIRECTV in our trucks at no charge to our drivers! The package includes a 24" flat screen tv, DVR and access to more than 100 channels including the NFL Sunday Ticket and HBO. We are always on the lookout for ideas to improve the quality of our driver's lives on the road and we hope this service is a great benefit for our drivers.
Auxiliary Power Unit Already Installed All tractors come equipped with an Auxiliary Power Unit ("APU") which eliminates the need for idling and consumes only a fraction of fuel compared to a running engine. The APU provides heating and cooling comfort and shore power for the driver.Last edited: Apr 10, 2016
Milkman719 Thanks this. -
Yah, been thinking about them just because of the equipment. Figure if I got to do at least a year to get in enough experience to go with a better carrier, at least might as well be comfy while I put in my dues.
Tyson has also said I can come to work for them, better pay, and have apu or inverters, but not sure I like the idea of getting stuck on short routes. -
Either one is ok to get started; Tyson or TransAm.
Tyson teams probably get the longer runs.
