Which Connestoga system is best?

This sounds like another "what truck is best?" thread. I'm guessing that quality is probably comparable, so it would seem that features, price and how quickly you could get it installed would be the driving factor.

My carrier runs a lot of the Fasttracks. Darned sturdy tarp systems, in my opinion. Lock down tight, tough as nails, and fairly decent headboards for gear storage (chains and such).

Get the Fasttrack II system. Fasttrak I's are no longer offered, but if you are looking at a used setup, the Fasttrack II's are overall better. It's obvious they seriously worked through them and improved almost every aspect of the tarp system. My current trailer has a Fasttrack I (from around 2008, I think. which should tell you a lot about how sturdy these buggers really are!), and I prefer the Fasttrack II.

Aero Conestog XPs are decent, but they feel a bit flimsy in my opinion. easier to damage the bows and whatnot, plus I prefer being able to get the rear rolled all the way up and out of the way. Not just cinched up towards the top, sorta.

What kinda money are these things..... round numbers...?

 

I cannot stress the amazing build quality of the Verduyn! My fathers trailer is a 2006 steel Rayfab that had the system from Verduyn put on shortly after it got built. It's 2019 and the system still has all the original components. Even the tarp hasn't been re-skinned - which is kinda impressive as he opens and closes it up to 10 times a day being on the local heavy board. Around Hamilton they are one of the most popular systems cause of their durability. Whatever you do don't get a Quick Draw!! They look great but they are flimsy POS's that can't roll from start to finish before they bind on either side. I swear more than half the times I've watched someone open one they haven't been able to open it in one clean go. Another company called Glider Tarp Systems also has a major share around here. Don't know if they're widely available in the states but could be a secondary option to consider as they seem to also have a decent system.
