Guess what, Gonzo, the company was also losing revenue while you were there. Where were they supposed to come up with anymore money than what you were paid? And $100.00 a day for layover is better than most companies pay. Plus you may have lost $428 a day in gross revenue but then you weren't buying fuel to the tune of $200-300 a day either. You know FFE used to have a pretty good deal but drivers screwed it up. They had a Southwest regional that paid $150.00 per day from the time you left home until the time you returned home. Driving or waiting to load the driver got paid $150.00 for each day out. But you know what happened? Drivers took advantage of that and didn't do the work expected so FFE pulled the plug. So who is really the problem? Is it a trucking company who is trying to protect their bottom line so they can offer jobs to as many as they can afford or drivers who are often trying to get by with as little as possible? Your comment about them working you hard proves what side of the fence you are on. This nation was built on hard work but nowadays people want to "just show up" and get a paycheck. I see it everyday at the job I am at.

I can see I touched a nerve.. As for the side of the "fence" I am on.. I work SMARTER not HARDER! I now OWN my own 35 ton RGN with a flip axle pulling O/D loads. I now make around 2.50mi minimum TTT.. for a "easy load".. The price goes only up from there.. I got $1400 for going 24 mi... Now who's the smarter here?

FFE wants you to run your truck into the ground to make pennies. I now get $65 an hour for anything over 2 hours detention.. That Friona deal with the company I am with now would have netted me $2340.00 if they tried that.. I woulden't pitch a fit at all.... Go ahead take your time would have been my responce..

As for that $150 a day... That makes me laugh.. I won't turn the key on my truck for that $$.

Question, how long have you been an O/O PawPaw? Have you worked anywhere else other than FFE as a O/O? Did you buy 1 of their "fleece purchase trucks" ? FFE is a POS company and you won't change my mind about them. I argued with them about $2 a mi. meat loads out of Colo. My dispatcher at the time said there were "no such thing" ... "There have never been any $2 mi. meat loads out of there since I have been here.." Well, there used to be in the 80's... I know because I worked for Freymiller back in 1988-1989. There was $2 meat loads back then! Now.. Prime, and everyone else has cut the rates soo bad that there isn't any $$ in meat any more. (Don't even get me going on lumpers, I used to pay $75 for a load of meat to be taken off....maybe, $125....NOW... more like $200 plus, and the rates are worse..)

I lived in Savannah at the time w/ FFE. I could take a trailer w/ me when I went home for time off # first.. (1-2 mo.) Then I was made to drop my trailer in Doraville, GA (Atlanta) and deadhead home.. When I needed to come back to work it was bobtail back to Doraville or go to somewhere like Albany, GA and "try" and find 1 there... Sometimes going on search and try and find a trailer.. (going 60-70mi. on wild goose chases trying to find 1)

I have more but this is just for starters.. Your turn to try and sugar coat it..
