Thanks Ironpony. I am from Maine but Im not looking to do the majority of my runs in the NE unless thats what they decide. Im all for seeing the states again.

If I may add to ip's post... You'll also most likely be done training sooner. Getting your miles is easier on reefer side than flatbed. I'm flatbed and have around 8 thousand miles left. The other people from my same hire & orientation date in SLC are already solo and have been for a few weeks. Food for thought....

I start orientation on the 6th so Im a ways out but thanks awbro

I don't think there would be much difference on your paycheck between the two. While the base cpm for flatbed is higher it isn't worth the amount of work you will be doing. There is also a large investment in equipment for flatbed. The tap pay is decent so it will pay for itself but it will still take a while depending on how many tarp loads you get.

Haha.... no one ever does. I'm trying to get through training and get into the tanker division so I can shed some light on it here. I think that there is one guy on here who pulls tank for Prime, and he just switched.

Once when I was in springfield there was a tanker instructor there that waited a week for a student. nobody wanted to get the endorsement and get going...
