I bought a 2014 Kenworth t660 and just blindly assumed I was getting the one capable of 500 HP. Just looked on my engine stamp and it says max 455 and build date 9/2012. Never had a clue a 2014 truck would have a freaking 2 year old engine in it. Highly confused and possibly pissed off. Probably part of the answer to why it doesnt pull worth a crap even after delete and tune.
Which Paccar MX 13 do I have

Truck was built 02/14/13
Truck is probably labeled as a 2013 truck as 2014 trucks should have the EPA 13 engine in it.
Engine is only built 5 months sooner then the truck. Quite standard.
Engine is a EPA 10 MX13 which would have the 6 individual unit pumps.
That engine will max out factory at 485/1850. If you have the ecm modified it is probably well beyond that.
Truck was built right around the time they switch between labeling them 2013 and 2014 trucks.Oldironfan Thanks this. -

No not a common rail. Still a high pressure system, just an individual pump/injector setup. The common rail removed 4 of the pumps and just runs off the back 2.

It could be. I would remove the pipe before the dpf and take it for a drive. Either it gains power or it doesnt. Easy test to do. It will be a bit loud tho lol.
Oldironfan and insanityeight Thank this. -
Loud pipes save lives.
