Which Tarps to Purchase Initially

    I was going to grap duct tape, and some short roofing nails.

    I didn't think staples would go through a tarp. Hmm. I'll have to try

    6 foot tarps. Anything that is 8 foot tall is something that is going to be a pain.
    If they get holes and cracks later to the point they won't keep the freight dry, buy the cheap large blue tarp at Lowe's to cover the freight and lay the heavy lumber tarps over them for weight.

    You will need something to run rope through to hold it on the freight. D rings or eyelets. You can buy an eyelet kit at any hardware store for twenty bucks. So if money is tight that's cheaper than buying a smoke tarp.

    I run 3 6ft drop machine tarps... d-rings on all 4 sides... and two 12x 16 smoke tarps with 6 rows of d-rings. I can tarp a 8"x48" load of lumber with this set up or, just using the smokes, a 6"x6" coil. A lot easier and faster to tarp a coil with 20lb smokes than a 50+ lb steel tarp. ;)
