Welcome home and thank you for your service first and foremost! I am a fellow service man and understand where you've been. My advice for you is to do as much research as you can on the part of the industry of trucking you wanna go into and ask questions every chance you have whenever you see someone who is doing what you wanna be doing. As far as companies go I think TMC is a good company for you to go into and get some good experience in trucking. I've heard nothing but good things about them and like ex military. As for the type of truck you should get? Well i am a heavy hauler and run a Coronado heavy spec and my loads are over 100k weight. It does the job fine and the manufacturer has been great in their support. Good luck and I wish you the great success in your new career.

Thanks and thank you for your service as well! It seems like all the good former military guys are in the transportation industry these days.......
MNdriver, CAXPT and SublimeJulian Thank this. -
Yeah I believe you're right my friend. I like to be out there in the world and seeing the life beyond my front door. A regular 9 to 5 job isn't for us I believe. We are a different breed of person once we've been in the military and seen the world.
MNdriver Thanks this. -
should start a possible Vet truckers get-together some place in the country sometime.
That'd be fun and see how many trucks show up......I can see a BIG field being needed. -

I don't think the Stockade would be large enough in Forest City.
Soo Pass? -

Here's a thought..... Do medium duty trucks hauling open or enclosed gooseneck trailers have to follow the same regulations as say class 8 tractor with 48 or 53ft trailers?
