Back when I was taking driver training. Driving through the industrial park, probably about the 2nd or 3rd time I was ever on public roads in a truck. Bonehead truck driver at a T intersection decides the yield sign is optional and decides to make a left turn almost across my front bumper.
Another time I was in the old C5500. Winter morning, roads are a bit slick. I was doing about 10-15 under in the right lane, which was clear. Left lane was gridlocked. Some douche canoe decides he should be in the right lane and just stomps on it and cuts right in front of me from a dead stop. Hammer the brakes hard. Truck starts to go sideways but I manage to keep it straight. Bet we were no more than a foot from contact. I ended up spilling coffee all over the floor and dash. I followed that guy with the horn blasting for at least a kilometer or 2.
Another time I was riding with someone else. Gravel truck drove straight through the stop sign at the pit. My co-worker almost put the company's brand new service truck into the ditch to avoid T-boning the tard.

Was going from somewhere just south of Chicago (something park. Can't rember the full name) up to greenbay. Was dark and there was an ice storm. We were crawling up 57 at a whopping 10 miles an hour in a good chunk of traffic. Mostly other rigs. Drives start kicking side ways on me kept her in the lane. Trailer started gettin squirmy (I was empty) and rembered a trick a buddy taught me and used the trolly valve. Luckily it worked. Roads got better at the Wisconsin line. I was petrified when the truck started dancing. Guy I was riding with #### near had to use a crowbar to get my hands off the wheel haha

I miss my first few months of driving a rig when things still scared the #### out of me.

Would have been on you, not him in this scenario. Your choice, your control.....all your decisions. Going to keep the speed, better keep it under control.
Just because you were tired & in a hurry?
Could he have been an issue? Absolutely. Reason for losing control of your truck & endangering self & others? Absolutely not. That was you.
Argue what you will, but...come on, man......you know better than that. Maybe not, just blame the other guy....eh?
Just sayin'.
Think about what you posted......and maybe try to be a little safer & professional out there.
My family will thank you for it with their lives.

Most of my "white knuckle experiences" happened with dump trucks. Had some REALLY tense times with that.
