That's a very suspect map. Detroit, Flint, and Saginaw all have been in the top 10 most violent cities for the last couple of decades. (FBI data) Usually all 3 are in the top 5. Yet Michigan as a whole is number 22?
That looks like lying by statistics.

 

Not sure where your getting your numbers from. Saginaw isn't even in the top 25, while Detroit and Flint combined contain only 7.6% of the population of the state. Maybe you'd prefer to see it broken down by county:

 

I don't see anything like that and my most frequent shipper/receiver locations are Seattle & Portland.
