Reported crime statistics vs. actual violent crime statistics are 2 different things. I’ve read some of those reports. Seen the lists. Been to the places on the list. Lived in the most dangerous zip code in America. Nicknamed 4820die, Lol. Never got bothered.

Exactly,my wife has Local breaking News updates on her phone. We’re 1000 miles away, and a story of a random shooting killing someone pops up. I’m thinking, I don’t need to know all that, I know it goes on everyday. She doesn’t want to miss anything . I’d just assume not hear about it.

I once heard that Lancaster County Pa. has the lowest crime rate in the Country. I can’t help thinking of the TV Show Amish Mafia. Lol.

I use Newsbreak myself, mainly because I want to stay updated on current events. That being said I can't stand talking heads who pick and choose facts to report like it's a buffet. As far as the violence goes, in most cases it's just society self pruning. There are innocent bystanders, sadly there's no clear lines when lead gets thrown and no "backsies". However, look at where crime is the worst, delve further into who is most highly affected by it, and you'll see that the victims have often victimized or are in direct contact with those who have in the past. Blame socioeconomic standards, or whatever else you want, it doesn't change that "innocent" is a loose term where most of these events are concerned.

I have never seen any violence in a truck stop. Tv shows a lot of it. But I never see it. Weird

That list shows Saginaw at 17th, which isnt in the top 10, and that top 100 list isn't from the FBI, but rather from a website called Neighborhood Scout, which doesn't merely rank based on violent crime but also factors in how likely a crime victim is to live outside the city where the crime takes place.

Based on raw FBI crime stats, Saginaw doesn't rank in the top 25, but even if it did, the combination of Detroit, Flint and Saginaw would still only comprise 8.1% of the population of the state.

The only thing I fear when I'm in my truck is other motorists. Ask them, and they're all "good drivers". The majority of 4 wheelers can't even maintain their vehicle in their lane, and too #### many truck drivers can't either. On top of all the other stupid #### they do as they are driving.

My biggest nightmare is someone coming over the centerline and hitting me headon.

There's no "widespread" riots, then or now. The worst race riot in US history occurred in Tulsa in 1921, when more than 100 people were killed and 10,000 left homeless as an entire section of the city was literally burned to the ground.
