These were gas haulers that usually pulled rockie tanks. However, once in a while there will be a pup, loaded or empty that needs shuttled to another dock. I don't know what they do with the pup tank, when they do this. But they are bringing a load of fuel out of a depot, and headed in the direction that box pup has to go.

The OP seems to think that pulling triples or even doubles for that matter is some sort of privilege or status symbol. After 55 yrs behind the wheel I have a totally different view of that. Why do the work of two of two or three drivers for a fraction of what their pay would be. Also what about the safety factor of two or three trailers.
