He likely read that somewhere because I recall reading the same thing when I was a kid.
I have to admit, there are days when pulling pups on my peddle run would would make for an easier one.

Yes that’s the lot and the company has to have a permit to use that lot and it’s a very expensive permit. Like Estes really doesn’t pull triples here on the Ohio Pike and Saia does but rarely Old D, FedEx, UPS and XPO are the major players. Lipari Foods pulls turn pike doubles which to me got their operation doesn’t make a ton of sense. It may make more sense between Detroit and Chicago, for them, but it’s kind of ab odd operation.
I pull standard doubles at night for GFS , GFS doesn’t do triples at all not that I’ve ever seen or heard about. -
The scab outfits pay like $30/hr and 75 cents/mi now. Aside from UPS that's about as good as you can do driving a truck for somebody elseMike2633 Thanks this.

I've only ever done doubles but did work for a couple outfits in OR early in my driving career that did 3. They didn't let me near that since I was too new.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
At ABF we have to have five years pulling doubles then have to take a class to be certified to pull triples.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I see a good amount of ABF doubles on the Ohio Turnpike at night. They have a terminal right near the turnpike entrance in North Lima, Ohio it's an old school terminal, but I think they hook and run a lot of triples out of that terminal.
