I love radios. I am not "too good" for CB. In fact, I love the CB culture...
Perhaps I am just too open minded and am able to look past the BS, and see the fun in somethings...
Who has no CB?

I like to know if theres a traffic back up, an accident, I can't tell you how many times iv'e been in the left lane before hand when theres a truck or four wheeler broke down on the side, been in the right lane when the left is closed, rerouted around construction before i sat for an hour in traffic, got slowed down before i saw the cop, I had a taillight out once and knew about it before i got to a scale and pulled on a ramp and changed it. To return the favors I shout out when I see a cop, tell other drivers if they have lights out, warn about trucks, four wheelers on the side, ect.
YES, there are a lot of dunb@%#'s on the cb but theres more drivers that are using it as a tool to get the job job done right and safe. And like someone else said, all you guys that leave your radio off are the same guys that you hear over and over, one after another, whats the back up, how long is it, what lane should I be in????? when, if you would have been listening to begin with you would have been in the proper lane 3 miles ago like we were. Or you would have known that trailer tire was flat before it shredded off the rim. just pick your scenario, knowledge is power.
But, do what you want, we are all different and thats part of what makes this site so cool.

bMud Dog, virgil tatro and hup Thank this. -
You will wish you had it on when you hit that big "gator" that another driver tried to warn you about, and now you are sitting on the side of the road with your trailer air line shredded.
-
I have had it on and no one mentioned the huge satellite dish in the road either.
Guess if you have to rely on the cb, you will be sol.virgil tatro Thanks this. -
I-90 mile post 341 in montana winter of 2005. Ford truck traveling east bound slides on icy and snow packed roads, crossed median rolled several times and came to rest in the left hand west bound lane just over a small hill. I stopped my truck it took a good distance to stop because the roads were so bad. but i got it stopped safely. I was traveling east bound as well. If not for my CB radio, the west bound trucks could have easily went over the hill un suspecting a ford pick up on its top in the left lane and colided with it.. the CB that day probably saved many lives and prevented more accidents.. A cell phone would not do me any good unless I had about four million truckers phone numbers. I dont think my phone holds that many numbers...

I still do not see how it saved a life, but it is your story.
If I am running with someone, we are not on 19.
If I am not running with someone, it is off.
So holler, yell or whatever. -
Did it become attached to your grill? If so, you should get alot more channels.

10 foot dish. Would have got a great many stations. I did not have a tv.

I forgot about that- in an emergency you can rip the mike cord out of the unit and make a tourniquet.
