I can't remember the company that will probably get the contract but there is a heavy haul company out there that is connected and he will get the contract.. He gets most So Cal heavy freight.

It was carried by the 747 to Edwards AFB but has to be transported to a museum in LA . Maybe the government will seek low bids at UShip and we'll see it on Shipping Wars .
Landstar gets a lot of government loads . -

747 went to lax after spending nite at edwards afb. its staying there till oct. 12 where they,ll put it on a flatbed to haul it 12 miles to museum. they said it,ll travel at 1-2 miles an hour.

Forget the gooseneck, its got tires under it just hook with a chain! -
Saw a story on one of the news programs about this move. They are cutting down EVERY tree lining the path the shuttle will take but promised to plant two trees for every one cut down. They are also paying to have the utility companies raise all of wires on the route to a height to accommodate the size of the shuttle. I imagine this has to be one horrendously expensive contract.
