I'm assuming that an "mvr" is like a drivers abstract. It would seem to me that, if the companies insurance requires one annually in order to cover the driver working for that company, then it becomes a requirement of employment and should be provided by the driver just like a CDL is a requirement of employment and when it expires, the renewal is the responsibility of the driver.

my last employer made me give him a copy i had just made a change on my personal auto policy so i got a free copy in the mail, any time anyone pulls your mvr the state will send you a copy in the mail, i just took that copy in. my current employer did not ask for a copy of my mvr

How about when your company sends you for a random ? You come in, use the restroom, do paperwork, and on the way out, AFTER you've clocked out, bossman says go for a random, ON YOUR TIME AND IN YOUR CAR ! ! Then drink a gallon of water to be able to wee-wee.

I may be wrong, but it was my belief that most OTR Carriers get their annual driver MVRs from Hirerite/Dak. I don't think they use the state service anyway. Several years ago I got a copy of my DAK from my companies safety dept with a ticket I got highlighted. At least with this company they use DAK to get some of their yearly review data.
