Just making a point. That's all. Your opinion isn't God's word, so don't act like it is.

Well I will go on the record for saying not to go to a mega unless its ure last resort. I have spoken with many company drivers (of many different companies) and they all say either bad on home time, low pay, treated like a number, governed (which I personally don't mind), forced dispatch etc etc ... I don't miss it, that's for sure. In my company now they respect the driver (me) and of all that list I mentioned everything is better here.

If its the only way then do ure year or two and move on to bigger and better things cause if you're gonna b out here, at least get compensated for it

I and we care because we know there's a lot of times the information is not told to the new drivers and some of the recruiters and schools paint a picture that mega carriers are the only path to driving a truck. They show the new driver how easy it is to go that way. I don't care what company a driver picks as long as they do it informed and it fits them. I know I would go crazy if I was breaking my back and heard that a good company would have hired me right out of school and I've got a lousy contract to fulfill. And it turns out to be a good company that fits my goals and wants. Sometimes a new driver has picked the mega carrier because it fits their game plan. That's ok because a driver needs to do what he or she believes is best.

I think if that did happen it would be on you for not doing your research and making calls before you sign on with the big carriers. If there are good companies for new drivers, they can be found with a little research and patience, starting by checking all of the companies around where you are then searching through the driver forums to see what's available and worth looking into.
For many, the mega carriers are their only choice. Lots of people don't live near the good companies. I'm just sayin'...

In my case I knew what I was getting into with PAM (thank this forum).. So I managed. In the end for me the company had changed for the worse but that's another story ...but for many of my coworkers PAM was hell ...so I agree with finch here; if u know what to expect mega carriers won't be too bad ... I just hated that what was a decent company to work for in the end turned for the worse, but as in all big business' policies change, and in PAMela's case, she didn't even want me to go home anymore. Probably just a tactic so I can get up and leave cause many ex drivers that I spoke with told me after a yr they start cutting ure miles...
