I agree! People don't understand. Thats how government gains power over the people. When you act like a child, government will be your daddy. Cant do simple math? Can't draw lines? Daddy government will put a system in place to help you. All the time gaining more control over your life.

I understand the simplicity of the e-log, but I also see the bigger picture.

its not about power, it is about fixing a problem with the idiots who can't fill out a log right.

This is just another reporting system and nothing more.

I heard they're also spying on us through microwaves. It's only a matter of time before they get to the crock pots, too.

I don't believe there are many idiots who cannot draw lines. I know, for a fact, there are skilled loose leaf masters (former myself) who will cheat it to perfection, running over 1000 miles a day with red tired eyes and never get caught. And them it is what the elogs are for. I don't judge the loose leaf masters (former myself) but just saying it is to stop them rather than help out the illiterate.

If you're not under load, would personal conveyance work? If that happened to me, I'd just chalk it up to a once in a blue moon moment. If it happened often, I'd rethink how I do trip planning.[/QUOTE] How often would you be coming home empty? No PC does not work. It's not allowed for going home.

Make 2 trips to california and let's see how well trip planning works. When your 70 is gone. And your 6 hours away from home. I don't see how those companies will survive on elogs.

If you're under load, why worry about getting home? You've still got to deliver that load.

Proper trip planning still applies. Wait until midnight for recap hours to show up. If you pushed 13.5 hours every day and have no recap, you bit off more than you could chew by scheduling the second one so tight. You should know your average speed, then multiply it by the hours you can drive in a week. Hopefully you calculate traffic and weather by factoring it into your average speed or giving yourself extra hours.

The problem with that is that it is predicated upon the belief that we should have to report our hours to the government in the first place.

The only drivers who should have to report their hours to the government are drivers employed by the government, and then only for payroll purposes.

My thoughts exactly that and speeding tickets sense it will have the ecu speed and gps data to pinpoint speeds use a overlap of gps map data like a garmin and it be easy pickins
