If that's all that is wrong you're in good shape. Sometimes more problems show up when you pull a load.

That is likely, checked 5th wheel but still have hook to a trailer. Front end is a little shaky, but expected and is one of my pet peeves, suspension, alignments and balanced tires. But I budgeted for things to be found. I can do most of this work myself, will get the shop manuals rather than use the puzzle method. I need a place to do any of the major stuff. Working out in the sun or in the cold . . .not at my age.:biggrin_25512:.
Plus, not sure how many specialized tools I would need. Just torque wrenches and such could cost enough to justify having someone else do the work. Besides I could be swilling beer while someone else is getting covered in oil and grease :yes2557::biggrin_255:.

I'm with you let someone else get covered in grease. Get older that seems to make more and more sense.

If it has a cab air filter, it will be on the right side in front of the firewall under the engine air intake. Might not necessarily have one, I think its more of an aftermarket thing for KW's.

The truck we bought last year had been driven by a smoker, the Febreeze worked really well, and I used Simple Green on the floor mat. Left the windows open to let it air as much as possible. It still had a little lingering smell, so I pulled the fan cover off (passenger side front of firewall) and took the fans off, cleaned the squirrel cages, couldn't believe how much black crud they had on them. Cleaned the rest of the inside of that compartment, flushed the AC evaporator and heater coil out the best I could. Smoke smell 99.9% gone.

If you've got the time, it probably wouldn't hurt to vacuum the bunk's AC unit. Move your mattress out, unscrew the middle panel, and the fan, AC evap and heater coil is right there on the floor. Won't really take too long anyway.

    Saving the body? ? ?

Heck after what I've put this one through I don't think saving it nor parts replacement would do anything.

I just need a new one.

The driving part is cake, it's all the ancillary crap that's hard on the body.

Not on the road yet, but leaning that way.

Did get one piece of paper from the state, so means they have processed, should have the plates any day. 2-3 days after that to get the permits.

    THEN: :Transportation cost
