I'd be on board with that idea. I really like the idea of a working pathway to legal immigration. If they want to be truckers, then Duff must think a little deeper than just deploy ICE and make the test in English. I cosign to a harder skills test. Honestly, I think if a harder skills test were to be implemented, I believe many of the foreigners would still be able to get by it.

 

And many native born Americans wouldn't.

 

Not to mention down in Mississippi and Alabama where logging is big time.....they stay in the weigh station getting inspected...some of those trucks are on life support.

 

That's the minimum requirement to haul containers in Memphis.

Nobody 'opened the border', but what did happen is the economy heated up with thousands of unfilled jobs which created a labor demand that illegals filled. It's funny that illegal immigration directly correlates to job openings.

Go to North Dakota, west texas, and go to my previous post where I posted a picture of log truck with illegal overhang, expired dot, no insurance, no mud flaps and no plates…. Those trucks are all over the southern state if you ever go there.

 

There IS a working pathway to citizenship. It’s not like these people are forced to sneak into the country or over stay a visa. They choose not to go about it legally. You guys need to stop treating them like victims here. There are millions of people in the system going about things 100% legal. These people said “F that and F you”. So we already know they don’t respect laws. And y’all really think they are over here complying to DOT regulations?
