That seems to come up alot in this forum, I need more miles-what co has more miles?
How about running less miles but just making sure that those miles are good paying miles, instead of just running to keep the wheels turning.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

What do you guys expect? you're not running full truckload freight but LTL freight.
Too many little low overhead trucks running on the road but alas the cycle of trucking will again rear its ugly head and many will leave ... again ... and rates may go up ... possibly ... -
See with things like this it makes me wonder how they can say the industry is short on truck drivers...
-
Read carefully who is saying they are short on drivers, and what time span they are talking about.
Now let us look at some figures... there are 1.8 million trucking jobs that require a CDL. Projected growth 5% over the next 10 years, or 9,000 new jobs a year. From Department of labor
And there are 3.7 million people qualified with a CDL for the 1.8 million jobs.oldtrucker66 Thanks this. -
Yeah the dep of labor gets their figures from companies. The companies need drivers because they can't hold onto the ones they get.
-
I know where the dept of labor figure comes from, 1.8 million jobs being chased by 3.7 million people.... there is no shortage...
Every time the ATA claims there is a shortage, they are talking about projections... and pie in the sky job growth.oldtrucker66 Thanks this. -
Isn't no such thing as LTL moron's let a word be made up to suit their needs . Freight is freight period.
I'll be glad when all the turd gobbling ones that want to try and paste together a load using their DEFECTIVE
LTL mentality go out of business and have worked themselves into an early grave through their own stupidity.
Haulers like that are the reason we have all the regulations crammed on us now they are idiots who can't use a mileage program properly or figure their true times worth's. -
You won't get nothing for them, I tried selling my old/extra trailer last year everyone wanted it for less than scrap prices or better wanted me to tote the note. I used it for an elevated parking place for while.

Been sitting at TA in Ontario, CA since wednesday and watching how even full loads fly off the boards at ridiculous rates, Some people are really desperate this time of the year.
-
The same in Seattle.... I was sitting there for 4 days... Called on few east coast and Midwest dry van loads... They r all between $.8 - 1.3 per mile. Feels like I'm in Miami trying to find a load to get out from that beautiful city... Freight is extremely cheap now. No way I'm gonna leave Midwest any more...
