Who's using dash cams and what kind?

I have a few Dash Cams of various prices and qualities, and feeling some what lacking on quality. Before spending more money again, figured I'd wait until the technology and products improve. I'm not sure why the quality on most dash cams suck, compared to other digital cameras and digital camcorders. There doesn't seem to be a brand name that everyone swears by, just a lot of names we don't recognize and coming out of Asia (HK, China, SKorea, etc) some where.

I read one website review on various dash cams for 2013 but still unsure about which would be worth buying that has better quality.

One Dash Cam advertising has SONY Exmor CMOS Sensor for better quality.

Is this something we should look for? Sony does seem to put out decent regular digital cameras, so I'd guess it would help the Dash Cam.
