Why 10, why not 5 or 3 hours?

That post wasn't directed to you and YES I HAVE.

Now look at what you said, "Even with the 10 they still don't know when!"

They were irresponsible jack wads well before they got their CDL. Have you been paying attention? There are more posts about irresponsible losers who can't pass a drug and alcohol test interested in trucking than there are posts about tired drivers. If a person obviously shown that they lack responsibility, why in the hell do they qualify to drive a truck? Will the driver cam, and all the rest of the cattle prods keep this goofball from goofing up? Heck no!

You know what, when I started long haul, the majority of the drivers at the company I worked for were on Crank. Blew the teeth out their mouths and the hair off the top of their heads, but they could run a week straight wide open. 25 trucks, 1 accident during the 3 years I was there. And that accident was caused by a 4 wheeler driving down an on ramp underneath the trailer. Wow...I guess those performance enhancing drugs actually made drivers safer than the the cattle prods. How's that for a 'study'?
When they started the drug testing, I had to go take the test often, because I was clean (some of us don't need enhancement).

Before I went OTR, I drove a beer truck. Started out at 0400 and got home at 2200, 5 days a week. Tired? Oh yeah...Safe? Well there were ZERO accidents. But what about that 8 hours necessary to be safe? Pure communism. Just because you can't do it doesn't instantly mean it's impossible and unsafe.

I remember those days. It's funny how all the clean drivers got called for the "random" drug test.

laws are the more about revenue and job creation then anything else and because these laws don't work FMCSA implement more laws when in reality they know the laws aren't working.Heaven forbid if they actually take partial blame for their unsafe laws.

One of my favorite videos. This friends, is a Braindead. If he wanted, he could be driving a truck. Does anyone think that any amount of legislation, or rest, could make this guy a safe motorist? I don't. YET, he could get a job driving a truck.

    Ive always said that too.

However much I agree with you, I would rather that monkey work with a handful of good laws.

A mountain of bad laws or laws designed to criminalize our very existence is something best burned to keep warm in winter.

Ive been reading and getting information, these last few weeks on this webpage where half the stuff Im used to now breaks a law somewhere that is or was passed in the last few years or less time to make sure that Im a criminal.

I think not. Revolutions have been started on less.

If driving more than 11/14 is so dangerous, why does California, the most socialist state in the union, allow 12 and 16?

Could it be that it's really more about enforcing compliance than safety?

I'm sure that many government hearts are warmed by seeing how wonderfully compliant so many of you here are.
