Why 10, why not 5 or 3 hours?

I personally think we should be on a 12/12 for our day. I am usually getting tired around my 11th hour on duty and come on DOT who can actually get a good nights rest with only 10 hours to get yourself unwound from the day, take a shower, do laundry, have some relax time, get up early enough to have time for a good breakfast and still get a solid 8 hours sleep. Not me that's for sure. I am lucky to get an average of 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night.

No most of the trucking regulations have been around for years. People get involved in these discussions and bring their politics into it and the whole discussion goes to hell.

Laws regarding hours of service are not based on logic. To comply with the law you must be unsafe. To be safe, you must disregard the law.
