Instead of whining and ######## about doing 'nothing' during your reset how about taking a shower, putting on clean clothes(not those ripped up permanently stained ones something decent) and going and seeing something where you are. A mall, a historical attraction, a movie, a beach. I do on occasion stay at the truck stop for my reset. LIFE EXISTS AWAY FROM IT!!! try this, I bet you enjoy it a hell of alot more and then I dont have to listen to you say the same conversation as the last person I talked to on the road
MrEd and Motownfire Thank this. -

First it requires paper, loose leaf, logs to pull it off
basically you fuel before going into cali to as full of tanks as you can get..you run in..drop off, run out..then either fuel again at same location to top off (and pay cash)or show a short dead head to where you are and fuel after 34 hrs has elapsed..then that whole time of being in cali is done away with in the log and you relog it as not having moved for those hours....so you restart without actually restarting..all cali miles are then ghosts...because you don't fuel in cali you can get away with it..just don't keep the bills for the load on the truck..or keep them very well hidden until you can get the filed off truck..you show repowering a load in az or nm
If you are caught doing it you will be ticketed for falsifying logs and shut down for 34 hours...most companies will also terminate you...but it was done by more than a few truckers before the invention of e log and gps

Good luck with that.............. -
I can see exactly what peterbeatinit means. It used to happen all the time, and not just California. Leave home, go out and back, and log you didn't leave home for that turn. Used to forget to log loads from time to time. Usually it used to help with logging the next couple. I remember back when I felt I had to do that kinda stuff thinking " I wish I could just run legal". Now I do run legal, and sometimes it annoys me.
