youre actually showing how young you are. back in the days before deregulation getting authority and lanes to haul was almost impossible. just about everyone who owned his truck was leased to a carrier and were called owner/ops. you owned it and you operated it.

that hasn't changed, its simply new guys aren't aware of what an owner/op is, was, and continues to be.

you are a carrier , not an owner /op

fact is many of us on this thread have had our own authority, I simply got old and wanted to relax a bit. fact is , many of us leased to a good carrier do just as well as we did with our own authority, without all the rest that goes along with it.

the true fact is having your own authority isn't the end all, be all like many like to think. if it fits you do it, but it isn't the magic bullet to untold income.

Your MC number might start with that but your dot # doesn't. In case you don't know they are not the same.

It's not an ego thing, it's clarifying something. I am a ceo/president of a corporation which owns one truck and hired me to drive it. The truck is leased to a carrier, I am paid on a we and have company paid health insurance. I appologize, I'm just a company driver, yet again. Lol I'm just being a mouthy young buck. No offense is meant by this.
