I like to cook in my little lunch box oven...overall prefer sapp bros or BP...very few of the FJ's, Pilots, Petro's, and TA's have any kind of standard to cleaning...most of time its a rush job and wipe down the showers...have even had towels that were refolded dirty...take my own from now on...or if place is too disgusting, I use baby wipes or a 3 gal bucket...can heat water in my water boiler....

One good thing about FJ and Pilot is that they put real sope in the buthrooms (not only baby sope)

As for the bathrooms what can I say (I now use Loves, after 1500 gallons in a month you have unlimited showers next month) I only go to the bathroom at the shower and it is only clean :p...

You know we (truck drivers) use the bathrooms and we do not think about the next guy! Maybe a post with the worst ####-hoe would make understand that the driver before us left it like that!

    Some FlyingJ's are brand new.
I haven't seen one lately who's showers haven't been remodeled.
Some still are just bad overall anyway. Not all Pilots are equal, but there does seem to be more discrepancy among J's.
It's like Pilot doesn't know what to do with them.
I do partake of the food by the counter quite a bit. I generally avoid truck stop food, but with points, it's free there, and not too shabby.

I am surprised that they can keep it as clean as the do...given the volume of filth that walks through the door daily.

First lets start with the rate of pay. These truck stops make million's but pay penny's most are at 10 per hour and help turn over is over the top. If they would pay around 15 to 18 hour you get help that would stay and do there job. Plus they treat the help like dogs. At love's the tire man cleans the showers and clean the bathroom plus empty all the trash bins all for 10 per hour. Would you do all this for 10 bucks a hour? It a wonder they get anyone to come to work. The biggest thing at all chain truckstops they are all under staffed.

there has never been will never be any correalation between pay and results
your right i wont clean toilets for $10/hour wont for $25 either
people either have pride in their work or not
i am 62 and not once in 50 years working ever not once ever never ever asked what the pay was

had an employee once ask for a raise
    i said and what else
    he looks at me stupidly
    what do you mean
i said why do you deserve a raise
because i want more money o_O

so if you believe your statement you are part of the problem is my diagnosis

You have never asked what your rate of pay was? That's hard to believe.

Yeah, how dare anyone want a raise? Just be happy for whatever crumbs they throw your way.
