If you are getting screwed with your pay, quit
I, personally, get paid for every minute I work.

Find a job that pays you enough to cover
    All the daily headaches.
    That's what we do.
A minor delay here and there is not even
    Worth complaining about.

i dont go to the plant on a daily basis which is why i let it go for the most part..... the policy is $10 per hour after 2 hours...... and yes allot of people do quit. i delivery 4 loads per week to the plant and i do several of those at 4am, 4am delivery usually avoids too much wait time. i feel sorry for the guys that go to the plant everyday sometimes twice a day..... but i guess if they put up with it its on them.

july 5th i spent 8 hours at the plant, but i dont do that very frequently.

We do or did complain. Trouble is, that's as far as it went. Detention pay has always been kind of a gray area. Receivers don't want to pay, as they feel it's part of the delivery, the truck owners feel the same way, no skin off their rear if the truck sits, it's the drivers that get the shaft. It's part of the job, always has been, and I've found it all works out, some deliveries you breeze through, others you won't.

Because I was wise enough to stop doing #### for free for these trucking companies, get paid hourly and a guaranteed number of hours whether I work them or not (I’ve yet to work what I get paid for).

If I was working for a place that only paid $10 per hour detention, I wouldn't be complaining. I would be looking for a better job. If you put up with it, it's on you.
