    :D

    That reminded me of watching a rock climber attempt a route close to his limit of ability. He was panicking on the hardest move, shouting some wierd word salad. Finally the inevitable happened.

    He fell.

    Two feet, until the rope caught him.

    Those of us watching and belaying roared with laughter. He never knew he said anything. I just wish smartphones and YouTube were available back then.

    Or maybe not.

    Either you want to, or you don't. If you're unsure, maybe don't. You could end up being one miserable MF if it turns out not to be your gig.

    That is exactly the kind of product I hate.

    Us lazy guys prefer to stick to easy-to-secure stress free product like shingles and bricks. :D

    Don't let the products fool you. Some things are a lot more weight than you might think.Might not look like it. Plasic conduit for example, a full load of the stuff can run in the mid 40s. Same on some other plastic pipe. Used to haul high pressure plastic line into the mines, some of this was 3 inch wall, and very heavy. Load could be 9 or 12 pieces depending on diameter, weigh in around 45k to 47k.

    Foam insulation board has to be one of the least liked loads.
    light, average 7500 to 10000 on a load. Catches the wind, kills fuel milage.

    Thanks for the plug man...and maybe DropDown69 would be better than BrokeDown69...I'll have to think on that.

    For those considering open deck in any of its iterations, there are a few guys I could point out to keep an eye on. They are never ending sources of information for the new and aspiring.

    They are, in no particular order:

    @TripleSix
    @Chewy352
    @passingthru69
    @Lepton1
    @Espressolane

    This is by no means all, just ones that have favored me with their advice and knowledge. A favor that is appreciated beyond description.

    You generally make more money than other types of trucking simply because you have to get out of your truck and work securing the load. Your also less likely to get blown over by strong cross winds bc you dont have all that surface area that box trailers have.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

    True all, but for when you have a tall, light load strapped to the deck. Then it can catch the wind in wonderful and mysterious ways...

    RedRover and cnsper Thank this.
