Other States have signs that state clearly Is both lanes to merge point.
If they want you toerge two miles back, they will close the lane two miles back. It has been proven time and again that the ziplererge is the absolute most efficient way to merge, even at the last month nute, the problem is the "you're not getting in front of me because I have been waiting in this lane" mentality of so many drivers these days.
I did drive in Europe, started driving a truck over there, merges were much smoother and more efficient, but I was in Germany and they are very orderly drivers. Italy, I doubt would work the same.
