To make sure it’s not contaminated.

We get it by the pallet at my job. All our trucks are old or deleted but most our equipment takes it and it’s just easier than having a pump.

Freezing DEF doesn't weaken it. Its the evaporation of the water that ruins the DEF.

I don’t buy DEF anywhere. The place needs to look like they actually sell DEF, and not that it’s been sitting there for a long time.

Yes it does freeze in the winter. Last year that forced me to buy it in the box. But that was a couple isolated times.

After BAD rain I buy it in box, just in case the underground tanks got contaminated.

It seems like it's a better quality. When it comes out box. It get a strong ammonia smell.

Maybe my reasons are incorrect. But JJ Wentworth told me "it's my money"

    It all depends.

I used to haul def, we never had ours get contaminated or bad.

but some of these customers had the nastiest set ups and would wonder why it was bad when we tested it. I’d buy boxed too if it was my truck.

My new tractor takes 20 gallons of def for every 400 gals of fuel so no I'm not buying those jugs I buy 250 gals at a time but some people think the jugs are better quality and it might be in the winter

ill tell you a little secret why. if a dually goes to the truck lane at the loves or pilot. he sticks the def nozzle in his tank. then scratches his head why wont it pump. so heres he secret. when you look into the def tank nozzle hole. you see a perfect hole to match with the def nozzle. inside the hole is a magnet trigger that opens the def nozzle tip open. this way it will pump. the fuel desk has loaners if you need one to pump into open tank. some you have to leave dl. you can buy it too. not all def nozzles will do this. some pump freely. food for the thought.
