Why can't you secure your load?

I believe that 4,000 you read is what the DOT rating is if they don't have a tag on them specifying another WLL.

 

Our breaking point is 15.000 on straps.

 

The problem with straps is if they are showing any wear it drops the rating. Same with chains, It's just that straps wear out faster.

 

I prefer to use string and bowtie knots....or if its really heavy some rubber bands.

 

Our straps are WLL 5400-6000 with a breaking strength of 15000. We do steal, but not coils. The pain is protecting the straps from rubbing through on anything that will cut through them.

 

then use chains....

 

We haul more products that would be damaged by chains, so we dont carry them.

 

I've loaded aluminum coils eye to the sky and only used 3 straps and wood blocks front and back of the skid, as well as skid pads under the skid and never had a coil move.
