For some reason I always thought they checked cameras and then focused on satellite images from those congested areas. It wouldn't explain desolate or non camera roads. Makes so much sense now, haha thanks.

Your Android phone is in constant communication with the Google servers. One of the things it sends back to the mother ship is a brief GPS speed reading.

The Google servers will compare your speed to the speed limit on the road you're on. It the speed limit is recognized to be 65 and traffic is moving at 35 or less, that's when that road will show a red line. Something like that.

True...all the apps you download on Android pretty much tells you they are tracking you too!
One day Google will rule the world!...kinda creepy if you think about it!

Now if they could only track the position of all Prime trucks that would be very helpful. I'd buy an app like that.

I'd like for it to have the ability to have different colors for the stars. Red would be for a place to be never seen again, green for parking spots you love, black for bad truckstops.

Lot of shippers and receivers do not answer the phone, or they have the mailbox loop-leave a message; part of the time they even give out false ph#'s.

I would say about 40% of the time the number gets you nowhere or they have an attitude and give you crappy directions..

I use street view a lot to see if they have a gate into the driveway or area near the street to overnight park.

I just googled and address to Winn Dixie in Orlando in the Seaboard Industrial Park area and it has a 23T bridge over a drainage/canal on the one road. Have to wait and see if the Rand GPS bypasses it or not.

Not sure if you're serious or not, but in fact Google Maps offers many user customizable options to save POI's and set various attributes for the POI such as color and "pin type". First step is to create a Google account (can use any existing email address). Then build custom maps which is actually fairly simple once you grasp the essentials. Then what you do on your laptop via web browser is also visible on your phone app
