Those who fear CSA2010 and ELOGS should,,,
Bad habits are a learned trait that for the most part cannot be or wont be changed unless forced to,,I.E. >>> CSA 2010 will lead you down the path to ELOGS
If you have no bad habits thus you will not garner the disadvantage of being on ELOGS,Right now you have a choice of what you want to do,I.E company and what not,if you choose to run with a company and later they are either forced by the FEDS and or in most instances their own Insurance company to go on ELOGS ,well then you will have to make that choice also
One size does fit all,,,there is only one set of rules(The 395) that we all have to abide by.
Driving a CMV is a Privilege and not a right -
Do you have the docket number of the NPRM of them changing the issuance of CDL's? I am not even opposed to them yanking them but have not seen besides hyperbole anything to that. The Feds have steadfastly held CDL are state issued and barring some severe violations are within the states authority.
Drivers being denied jobs. Well if you have three applicants and two of them have had minor notations on 3 inspections and a couple of clean each while the third one has several major violations and an OOS wouldn't it make sense to hire the drivers without the baggage. Chances are the third driver is going to try and operate in the manner that garnered the violations right?
Me I'd hire the first two and suggest the third one try Hardee's.
And yes they are quite lacking in some of their penalties. Should some of the points be modified sure. But you not going to convince me enough marker lights are gonna burn out to cost you your license even if they decide to go that way.
Yeah brakes, tires, and my personal pet peeve hub seals should be far more severe. Feel free to make that comment to them. I know I have.
Yes we have heard the story of your screaming box. I guess the volume was broken or something. The very simple fact remains it tracks nothing that should not be tracked now. And if your issue is with the HOS in general feel free to file a lawsuit. Hell everyone else is and they haven't even released the final rule yet. So much for the Mandate from LaHood to make a "sue proof" rule huh? -
Something that has been on my mind about drivers pushing the use of e-logs is I keep wondering if they are just lazy and cant do or understand basic math. Is this the reason why they love them so much? Its not hard at all to do and keep track of properly a paper log. Its great that your company uses them, its great that you like them but why push it on me? Extra costs is not what I need as an O/O. If they make it mandatory then it needs to be free. I wont have such a problem with them then. But then again, why dumb the trucking industry down more than it is already? There are some real 'Einstiens" that I come in contact with everydaym Heck I know for a fact I'm tarded
I dont have an issue with CSA 2010 except for the pts system needs to be modified. 30 pts for a burned out marker light is a bit much but maybe not enough for a headlight or stoplight that has a higher probability of causing an accident

I see Elog's being usefull for one thing. Sence a computer is going to tell what I can or can't do, then I suppose I need to march my happy ### up on capital hill infront of the powers that be and wipe my ### with the book of rules they created. After all, I'm running short on toliet paper and that book means nothing anyway sence we are however being told what to do by a computer! Then when something happens I'll just point my finger at the mexican they let cross the border in his ragedy POS.

Heck it's happening right now without many people even thinking about it or questioning it. For example: A newer Chevy vehicle that is equipped with On Star. Even if you do not subscribe to the On Star service it is still sending data. Who might have a vested interest in this data( driving habits, frequent stops, mileage traveled etc)? Could they sell this personal data to anyone?
Tazz, doesn't it bother you that personal seemingly private data could and likely will be collected about your life and perhaps sold to any interested party?
Example: Say an advertising firm wants to offer personalized ads for consumers... Interestingly, they find Tazz has an affinity for male feet, and gay porn.... for example only.
Tazz will then receive ads for gay porn video companies and clubs whenever he logs online with his user name ect ect.
Keep in mind I'm not saying your gay, I used this example because it might be something that one may want to keep private... and it really shouldn't be anyone's business either way.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
