I agree with what your saying except the cameras. They are being used by Cargo Transporters of Claremont, NC. It's not part of Qualcomm it piggybacks off of it. It on 24/7 just shows a few seconds before and after a triggered event. Mark Carrigain in sales joked about the things he seen in the videos. That is the problem I had when I worked there.

you can't compare a box on an airplane to a box on a truck.

one has totally different operations then the other.

the box on the plane doesn't monitor uuuuuuuuuuuu. it monitors the aircraft. it don't tell you when you can fly and when you have to sleep or where your going and how to get there. it only monitors what's happening to the plane.

teh box on the truck. is YOUR boss. it don't monitor what happens to the truck. it monitors uuuuuuuuuuuuu. and tells you what to do.

the box on the plane, is there for crash purposes. the box on the truck. is your new wife becuase it's what uuuuuuuuuuuu want.

True...there are no ailerons, flaps, multiple engines, stall sensors, rudders, cabin pressure sensors, flght control sensors, every guage has a sensor on an aircraft, communications recording, sensors in the seats for occupancy...all seats passenger and ####pit, 15 temperature sensors throughout the aircraft and surfaces (on a 747), pressure sensors on the tires and landing gear (double those on the nose gear)....and what does the "box" on the truck monitor(?)...well, engine rpm (only one engine) and the PTO if applicable, oil pressure, exhaust temp, speed (over and excessive over), brake application...

Of course it doesn't...I drive I don't get on planes (commercial)...I have been known to fly around in a co-owned Cessna 210 though!

Did you know that pilots, and crew have to log on to their "box" immediately after filing the flight plan, and going through the crew meeting before leaving the terminal(?)...bet not!
Don't forget the crew and the baggage compartment!
Nor does the "box" on a truck...the driver still has to be "compliant" with rules, regulations, personal needs, company needs, company policies, COMPANY EQUIPMENT!
Now that is so very convenient isn't it? You must not have been driving when we had to sit around the T/S or on some pay phone calling in every day, after every load, being put on hold, or just hearing the phone ringing...for hours and hours! You should try that system of dispatching and getting loads from your dispatcher...OH it was so much fun!!!! NOT!!!!!
Not a pilot are you...and you speak without getting the accurate info about what you speak....kind of like a lemming!

Good...then according to you...it should be able to spit out my paycheck every week!
REALLY? Where do you get this stuff? T/S coffee counter whiners weekly meetings?
It (the box), monitors and sends info about what is happening with the engine, the speed, the braking. It doesn't tell me when to shift, when to stop, when to go, when to speed up or slow down, turn right, turn left, go straight...go forward or backward, when to open or close the (any) door, when to go into a scale or not to, what highway or Interstate to use, what spot in the T/S to occupy, which door at the warehouse to get a load or deliver a load to....anything else...I need that "box" to tell me how to finish this sentence!!!!!!

So all those plane crashes were due to "the box"? WOW...better let the FAA know about that one...they been collecting the wrong data all along!!!!

Leave it to a truck driver to figure that one out!!!!!!
Now what makes you think I want a new wife? The one I have is quite expensive enough!

BTW...the "E-log" portion of "the box" is an additional application that is or isn't used by the carrier...it is an "option" unless you drive for Werner, then without the e-log app activated, you wouldn't have a company to drive for...since Werner is THE ONLY COMPANY E-LOGS ARE REQUIRED TO BE USED BY THE FMCSA!!!! Without the elogs, they wouldn't have authority to run....that means, their DOT # would be cancelled!!!!!!
